Competency Statement

Established in 2015, CityZens is an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) which offers Systems and Safety Assurance Management with a strong focus on work package delivery by a specialist team of experienced safety professionals. The team have a wide range of experience of the regulated railway sector, including both heavy and light rail and the critical-to-safety engineering sectors. CityZens has a demonstrable track record of project delivery covering: Safety Case development, System Assurance along the EN50126, 50128 & 50129 'V' lifecycle, New Products Assurance, Site & System Safety audits, Operational Management and Bids & Tender evaluation.

  • Detailed understanding of Signaling, Rolling Stock (heavy, metro and light rail build, operation and maintenance) infrastructure & railway civils sector.

  • In-depth knowledge of Safety Engineering and Safety Critical Work Processes. Associated UK & Australian safety legislation, International and Australian Engineering Standards. 

  • Safety Case and PHL development and accreditation with TfNSW, London Underground and Network Rail. 

  • Excellent team leadership, management and mentoring skills. 

  • Knowledge of ETCS SRS protocols, rules, language, TSI, ATS, ATP plus ATO and CBTC Signaling Systems for Metros. 

  • GSN and CSM methodologies for Safety Assurance Management. 

  • Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) and Independent Professional Review (IPR).
